Class Descriptions |
Strength/Core Training Class: This class will help you tone and strengthen your muscles as well as add core strength. We will use the BOSU, weights, resistance bands, and stability balls to achieve a rock hard body! Core Training can be any exercise that is focused on improving strength and stability in the torso or trunk. It is important because this is where all of our movements originated. The "Core" is like the solid base or foundation on which we can move more efficiently, with less risk of injury if we condition it properly. |
Aerobics Room Mission Statement: "Workout 24/7 Jordan will provide aerobics classes with the highest qualified, certified trainers in a safe, professional, state of the art environment at the lowest price possible to help our students exceed their personal goals." |
Step Aerobics Class: Is based on stepping up and down on a platform in time to music, along with good fun, is good for the leg muscles and at the same time you are getting great aerobic exercise. During this exercise your body works hard enough to raise the heart beat by 40 percent. We use platforms approximately 30" x 15" and 4 to 12" high, which is according to your level of fitness. First, you step on to the platform landing at a particular point with one foot, while bringing the other foot up alongside. Then you step down to a different place with your feet in turn. There are many different movements you can do to make it more interesting, but you always have to lift your body up to get on the step. |
Low Impact Aerobics Class: Low-impact aerobics are movements involving large muscle groups used in continuous rhythmic activity, with at least one foot contacts the floor at all times. This exercise is ideal for special students such as seniors, overweight people and pregnant women. It is an excellent way to begin an exercise program for those who have not exercised for some time and who want to ease into a program. The guidelines for these programs include arm and leg movements which are controlled, as problems with the knee may occur due to repetitive use of a flexing knee. With low-impact, more fit people may have difficulty achieving adequate intensity, therefore they are told to use larger movements. |
Boot Camp Aerobics Class: This is a class that all levels can participate in - you set your own pace. We work up a sweat with running, athletic drills, intervals, ploymetrics, and strength training. Come prepared to work hard and have fun! Bootcamp arerobics are intense exercise sessions that challenge every muscle in your body. By rapidly moving from exercise to exercise with little rest in between, you tone and firm muscles while getting a good cardiovascular workout at the same time. These sessions are known as bootcamp workouts because the exercises used are similar to those the military employees to keep recruits in shape. |
BOSU Ball Aerobics Class: The BOSU ball is a very effective tool that can be utilized by a wide range of athletes. The acronym BOSU means "Both Sides Utilized," although some referr to it as "Both Sides Up." It consists of one side that is completely flat, and can lie flat on the ground. The opposite side is the ball side, which is basically an exercise ball cut in half. The BOSU ball is great for building the core muscles; however, not all exercises need to directly target your core area. Many other exercises indirectly stimulate the core muscles, leading to better balance and explosiveness. |
Yoga Class: A dynamic flowing sequence of postures linking breath and movement. Practice begins with postures to warm up all major muscles and joints, then moves into a challenging series to build core strength, flexibility, and endurance. Class ends with Yin style postures (long-held postures that stimulate the health and flexibility of the joints) and deep relaxation. Emphasis is on alignment, safety, and fun! All levels welcome. |
